Throggs Neck Bronx Saint Patrick's Day Parade 2009

We are delighted to introduce Mr. Patrick McGettrick and Mrs. Rosie Donaghey as the 2009 Grand Marshals of the 11 th Annual Throggs Neck St. Patrick's Day Parade, and Sister Lucille Coldrick, R.D.C., as this year's Honored Clergy Member. Mr. McGettrick immigrated to the U.S. in the 70's and has been an active member of the Sligo Association, the Chippewa Democratic Club, the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH), the Bronxonia Yacht Club, and the Minneford Yacht Club. Mr. McGettrick is a proud Bronxite who is always ready to lend a helping hand wherever he can. Rosie Donaghey is the epitome of a strong, hard-working, Irish Bronxite. Mrs. Donaghey came to the U.S. in 1949. She raised her family with Irish traditions and is still working today as a waitress at 88 years of age. Her joy for life and strong spirit are an example for us all. Sister Lucille Coldrick, R.D.C., recently retired as the Principal and spiritual leader of Preston High School, where she served for the past 17 years. Sister Lucille's passion for civic involvement and kindness can be felt through all the Prestonites and their families who live in the Bronx and beyond. Collectively, these three individuals embody spiritual devotion, community service, and Bronx Irish spirit, and we are very proud to have them lead the 2009 Throggs Neck St. Patrick's Day Parade! Please join us in congratulating them! Again this year, we will also celebrate the lives of this year's Honorary Grand Marshals, who will be honored post-humuously. We will be announcing the Honorary Grand Marshals soon.
