PARADE RULES AND REGULATIONS
The St. Henry Legion St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee would be pleased to have your participation in our parade. Please take a moment to read the Parade Rules and Regulations that all entrants must comply with for eligibility and to participate in St. Henry’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The committee reserves the right to deny entry to the 2008 parade to any group/individual that does not abide by the following rules, regulations and guidelines:
NOTE: In order to efficiently set up the staging area, it is important for us to know the estimated total length of your entry. It should also be noted that if you have a group of people with your float they do not necessarily need to arrive as early to the staging area as the entry itself. This will help make the staging process run smoother.
1. Throwing of candy from vehicles or floats along the parade route is prohibited.
This creates a very dangerous situation for youngsters running into the road. Walkers must distribute candy or novelty items curbside in a safe manner. Please use good judgment in distributing any advertisement, coupons, etc. as this may be discarded and becomes a litter problem for the community.
2. All equestrian units must have a clean-up crew.
3. Fees: Your entry donations help make the parade possible with any proceeds going directly towards the Veteran’s Memorial.
a. . Commercial Entry: $20.00 for first commercial vehicle or entrant, plus $5.00
each additional.
b. Non-Commercial Entry: $10.00
c. Service (non-profit) Entry: No Charge
d. Political Candidates: $30.00 each candidate, includes only one (1) vehicle
and/or walking candidate.
4. No all terrain vehicles are permitted.
5. An antique vehicle is defined as 20 years or more old and must be in good running
condition.
7. All floats must be pulled by a motorized vehicle.
8. All motorized vehicles in the parade must be operated by an individual at least
18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
9. A late fee of $20.00 will be charged for any entry received between February 25th
and March 7th. All entries received after March 7th will be returned!
14. Checks are to be made payable to the St. Henry Legion.
15. All fees are non-refundable and must accompany entry.
