Quad Cities 2008 Grand St Patricks Day Parade
Saturday, March 15th
The only St. Patrick's Day Interstate Parade in the USA and is viewed by tens of thousands of people along the route from Rock Island, Illinois across the Mississippi River through Davenport, Iowa.
The Gathering of the Clan Luncheon: Friday, March 14th, Col Ballroom, 1012 W 4th St, Davenport, Iowa. Doors open for the luncheon at 11:00am. This is the beginning of THE weekend with the Introduction of the Irish Mother of the Year and Grand Marshal of Grand Parade. Also on the agenda will be St. Patrick Society scholarship awards recipients. This event will kick off the big weekend and will include musical entertainment. The Mass and The Grand Parade: Saturday, March 15th, the Grand Parade XXII commences with 10:00 Mass at St. Mary's Church in Rock Island, Ill. The Grand Parade begins at St. Mary's Church in Rock Island, Ill. proceeds through downtown Rock Island, Ill. and crosses the Mississippi River to downtown Davenport, Iowa. It starts at 11:30 and ends at 1:30pm.
Post Parade Bash: Saturday March 15th, Col Ballroom, 1012 W 4th Street, Davenport, Iowa. The St. Patrick Society Post Parade Bash occurs after Grand Parade. Doors open at 1:00 pm. For questions or comments about The Bash call 563-324-5000.
Irish Heritage Day: Sunday, March 16th, Isle of Capri, Bettendorf, Iowa, from Noon to 5:00 pm. The Mullane-Healy-O'Brien Irish Dance Academy will be kicking their heels to traditional music. The Gilhooly Award will be presented and there promises to be more children's activities than ever. This is a family day, so come and bring the clan and share our culture.
