Hoosick Falls Saint Patrick's Day Parade 2008
Saturday, March 15th
The Hoosick Falls St Patrick's Parade and Irish Fest will celebrate its
17h Anniversary on March 15th 2008. Seventeen years ago, local Irishman Mike Conway and T.J. Carmody wanted to find a way to keep the Irish Culture and History alive in the Hoosick area, and decided that a parade was the Ticket!
The history of St Patrick's parades dates back to when Irish
immigrants made their way to Hoosick Falls in the mid 1800s and ended
sometime in the 1950s. And was started again in 1991.
Every year the parade has grown ! The Irish Fest has become like
a First Night Event. We begin day with the Parade with over 40 Marching Units and Floats at 1:00 PM followed by the Irish Fest.
After the parade there is Entertainment at the New York State Armory
with Irish Music, Campbell's School of Irish Dance, Oran Mor Pipe
Band and Food. Or visitors can walk to the other bars and Restaurants
that offer The Celtic Games, Irish Music and food. We also offer bus rides from site to site and latter in the evening offer Safe Rides Home.
