St Paddy's Day Hampers

That’s just about right for the luck of the Irish – a quick search online for delicious and traditional Irish cuisine brings up hit after hit of scrumptious treats, guaranteed to put the fire in your belly, warm the cockles of your heart and appeal to any gourmand with a sweet tooth!

So make sure that next St. Patrick’s Day you toast the Emerald Isle with something other than Guinness, and celebrate all that’s on offer from Ireland with a pot o’ gold picnic hamper and make the most of a fine day of fun!

Feast festively on whatever you decide to include in a food hamper, for it’s all available in the diverse range of fresh produce and top quality cuisine coming out of Ireland at the moment.

Here are a few suggestions of what we would include in our hampers to bring in the holiday in style:

Not wanting to be overly cheesy, but there are a sublime selection of Irish cheeses that are absolutely essential to any simple or luxury hamper of Irish produce from Tipperary, County Cork and County Clare. Cashel Blue is best accompanied by a sweet dessert wine, but you can still enjoy its creamy texture, rich flavour and nutty blue marbling anytime. Mini Durrus is the top pick for all those who fancy a silky texture to their cheese, and St Tola is a fresh and delicious option for anyone who prefers a fine goat cheese. Don’t go past a rich, sweet and smooth “Irish Gouda” Coolea, for this cheese is a real crowd-pleaser.

For the main course, there’s always room for a good-as-your-grandma’s Irish Stew with Dumplings. Tender lamb, thick and rich stew, hearty and wholesome dumplings; this classic stew is as much part of Irish heritage as it is mouth-watering!

Finally, what about spoiling yourself with an irresistible Baileys Bread & Butter Pudding? Authentic, appetising and with a good amount of Baileys thrown in to tempt… Now you know what’s meant by the luck of the Irish! Don’t let anything hamper your enjoyment of St. Patrick’s Day!
