Welcome to Kinsale – the Gourmet Capital of Ireland!

During the reign of Queen Elizabeth I the rebellion of Hugh O'Neill & Earl of Tyrone, supported by Spain, was comprehensively defeated at the Battle of Kinsale in 1601 & this marked the conquest of Gaelic Ireland. The Spanish occupied the town for 100 days prior to the Battle.

Kinsale is a medieval town in a spectacular location with a rich history. As the Gourmet Capital of Ireland, Kinsale is especially famous for its fish and seafood. Quaint narrow streets, superb restaurants, galleries and delightful shops all combine to give great character to this beautiful spot.
