Ireland / Kildare
KILDARE
Kildare borders Dublin to the west, it is a county of open lush grass lands, ancient bogland, trees and hills. Kildare is famous as a sporting, racing and hunting region. Racing at the Curragh, Punchestown and Naas runs all year round, with some of the biggest meetings in the country’s racing calendar, including the Irish Derby June time. Near Kildare town, the Irish National Stud and neighbouring Japanese Gardens are a fantastic day out.
Kildare is a county with lots to see and do for everyone. Whether your interest is in sports or hiking, museums or equestrian activities, you will find something for you. There's excellent angling, golf and opportunities for cycling and walking too.
