Washington, DC's premier springtime 8K marks the official start of the spring racing season! Come join us at Freedom Plaza for a day of family fun that includes: a great 8K; a deep awards structure; a 1K kids fun run; Irish dancing; fruit, bagels, cookies, and water near the finish line; and random prizes from businesses that are active in the running community.

The official charitable partner for the 20th Annual St. Patrick's Day 8K is Special Olympics DC. This organization strives to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for all children and adults with developmental disabilities. The goal is to bring all individuals with mental retardation into the larger society under conditions whereby they are accepted, respected, and given the opportunity to become happy and productive citizens.
