ranks as one of the world's most prestigious road racing events.
The Boston Athletic Association manages this American classic,
which is sponsored by John Hancock Financial Services.
The Boston Marathon has distinguished itself as the pinnacle event within the sport of road racing by virtue of its traditions, longevity and method of gaining entry into the race (via qualification).
2012 Holyoke St. Patrick's Road Race & Fun RunSaturday March 17, 2012
The Holyoke St. Patrick’s 10K Road Race will be timed & scored using the ChronoTrack timing system. The timing device will be a tag, called a D-Tag, that you will receive attached to your race number. You must remove the D-Tag from your race number and attach it to your shoe (or chair) prior to the race, following the instructions. The tag is disposable; it will not be collected after the race.
2012 South Boston St. Patrick's Day Road Race
South Boston St. Patrick's Day Road Race 5K Road Race starts and ends at South Boston Boys & Girls Club, corner of F and West Sixth Street. All proceeds benefit South Boston Boys & Girls Club. Refreshments, Waterstop, Raffle Prizes.
Field capped at 1,750 runners. The race is held prior to the St. Patrick's Day Parade in South Boston. Route is West Sixth St. to Dorchester St., down East Broadway to Farragut Statue, back up East Broadway to West Broadway, then down E St. to West Sixth back to the Boys & Girls Club.
