Calling all Lovers of Classical Music!

Cork is renown for its rich musical culture – not least in classical music.
The Cork Orchestral Society presents a superb variety of classical music for the city. The Irish Chamber Orchestra are Artists-in-Residence to the Cork School of Music & their performances this season are eagerly awaited.
Visiting ensembles include the French Philippe Cassard Piano Trio, the Carducci Quartet and the Dutch Ensemble Caméléon with Irish oboist Aisling Casey.
The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra has a central European programme featuring Cork violinist Elizabeth Cooney as soloist, and the RTÉ Vanbrugh Quartet will be joined by pianist Ciara Moroney (a member of the Cork School of Music’s staff) and by New York-based clarinettist Carol McGonnell.
The East Cork Early Music Festival focuses on the Early Music composers of Vivaldi, Handel et al. "Early Music" refers to music composed before 1750, performed with instruments appropriate to the period. East Cork Early Music supports Irish and Irish-based musicians as well as attracting specialist performers from overseas.
And lastly, a trip to the Cork Opera House is a must. A modern 1,000 seat Opera House that "seeks to serve its city and surrounding region as a municipal theatre, offering its audiences a world class programme of events across all disciplines in the performing arts."
